NORTON CITATION

This bit is made of stainless steel, therefore designed never to rust, bend or break. This bit is a loose-ring snaffle with a thinner loose-ring snaffle attached to it. An overcheck is attached to either side of the thinner snaffle which runs up the centre of the horse's face, to the pollpiece. This is a bit suited only to very headstrong racehorses. The action of the overcheck snaffle is very severe - when the reins are pulled there is extreme nutcracker action into the palate as well as intense pressure on the front of the horse's nose. The 'noseband' part of the overcheck is elasticated and covered in sheepskin. This bit can only be used as part of a citation bridle - RACE1014 - Citation Bridle which excludes the bit.
